It is with deep sadness that IAFF Local 2024 – South King County Professional Firefighters announce the line-of-duty death of Firefighter John Moncrief. Moncrief died late Saturday, July 21, 2012, from cancer known to be caused by long-term exposure to toxic products of combustion. His family was at his side when he died peacefully at home after a good day with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Bev, daughter Tessa, son Trevor and sisters Laura Newton and Mimi Moncrief.
